Back in March of 2000, former Kentucky star De’Aaron Fox’s mother, Lorraine, was diagnosed with breast cancer. After undergoing surgery, participating in four rounds of chemotherapy every three weeks, 40 rounds of radiation, regular maintenance, blood work and scans, she finally beat the disease, where she has been cancer-free ever since.
For the current Sacramento Kings star, he has been outspoken in the past about his mother’s battle and how thankful he is for the close relationship they have.
He even honored her with his jacket on draft night two years ago:

Last weekend, the former Wildcat co-hosted a Junior Kings Mother’s Day Clinic in Sacramento with Lorraine to celebrate the holiday with some of the local children in the community.
At the Golden 1 Center’s Practice Facility, kids came in with their mothers or mother figures, where De’Aaron and Lorraine guided them through drills and fun basketball activities during a day of play.
“Just having a platform like this to represent what my mom has been through, and what your parents have been through,” Fox said at the event. “I didn’t understand it at that age, you guys don’t understand it right now, but we’re coming out here to forget all of that and just have fun.”
Fox added that it meant the world to him to be able to see the kids smiling with their mothers, just as he was doing with his on such a special weekend.
“Parents definitely play with their kids at home, but just to be able to come out here and play basketball – you see the smile on each and every one of their faces,” he said.

Monday October 15, 2018
The previews have been written and the squads assembled. The A-League season launches into action on Friday. It should be the final incarnation of the ten-team competition.
